NYNME: Double Threat

  • The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation 87 Eldridge Street New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation present NYNME's second concert of the season, which focuses on composer-performers and the particular lens that they bring to our world.

Alyssa Weinberg's "Refracted" examines the ephemeral nature of light and its juxtaposition with texture and timbre. Michael Hersch's virtuoso solo work stretches the expressive limits of the flute (and the voice). Jacob David Sudol's "sons disparu" sources the sound of ancient Cambodian stone bells and singing kites. Brittany J Green's soaring, melodic "shift.unravel.BREAK" takes on the form of its unusual title. The program concludes with "Distant Maneuvers for Present Music" by Paul Wiancko, cellist of the Kronos Quartet.

Please join us for this unusual evening of chamber music!
