NYNME: Rememberance

Monday, October 20, 2025
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

NYNME’s first program of the season at the Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation revolves around different aspects of spirituality. It is anchored by James Primosch’s "Sacra Conversazione," a work written for NYME in 1994 which uses the visual tradition of “sacred conversation” in medieval painting as a metaphor for the interplay between instruments in the ensemble, and between live musicians and pre-recorded electronic sounds. Tania Leon’s “Alma” (meaning “soul” or “spirit” in Spanish), based on a poem by Carmen A. Vega Schimmenti, examines the animus common to both human and natural elements, and the way that they collide and inform each other. Patrick Castillo's "Three Meditations" delves into themes of isolation and longing, and Morton Feldman’s centenary is celebrated with a performance of his rarely heard “Bass Clarinet and Percussion”. Please join us!
